Races are governed by a Notice of Race / Sailing Instructions document for each individual race, which can be found under the NOR tab. There are also tabs for entry forms, results and gallery for each race.
Safety is also a key factor in whether a race goes ahead or is cancelled. Entrants should make themselves familiar with the current Safety Regulations of Sailing published by Yachting New Zealand on their website.

SwellMap 24 hour forecast. This site gives you information about many different locations around the Gulf. Click on "Marine" button and select the location you wish to view. I.e. Inner Gulf.
