Dear Club Members

The next few months are going to be very challenging for the Club as we adjust to the new COVID Protection Framework/Traffic Light System.

Your committees are making decisions around Club events and operations in good faith, based on whatever guidance we can glean from YNZ and the Government, always with our members’ best interests at heart.

Unfortunately, the nature of the issues means that inevitably not all will agree with some of these decisions. We ask everyone to exercise patience and courtesy to each other as we need everyone's help to get through the unchartered waters ahead.

Health, safety and wellbeing of Members, staff and everybody visiting the Club is important. It is for this reason while we are in the Red and Orange Traffic Light setting the club has put the following policies in place:

1) For any events at the club e.g Christmas Party, Coffee Mornings and venue hire vaccine certificates will be required to enter the club under red and orange setting.

2) The club will be open for club members to have lunch, make hot drinks etc.  A maximum of 25 people including children under the age of 12 are allowed at any one time in the club and vaccine certificates will not be required.   We ask that you use the hand sanitizer when entering the club, keep to your bubbles and social distance.  Masks are mandatory when not eating and drinking and we encourage people to sit out on the deck.

3) For the hardstand, hauling, pontoon, work berth, grids and dinghy lockers, vaccine certificates are not required. Masks are encouraged when inside sheds and dinghy lockers and 1m distancing can’t be adhered to.

4) All staff and double vaccinated

We encourage you to read WBC Traffic Light Health and Safety Policy for more details click here.

Please remember if you are unwell please do not come down to the club, stay at home.

WBC is an inclusive club and does not want to discriminate against club members for their personal choices, but we do need to adhere to the regulations put in place.  We believe the policies above reflect this, but small tweaks might be needed along the way.

If you have any questions, please do call us.

  Kind regards
