Environmental Protection
Weiti Boating Club takes environmental responsibility seriously and has implemented several initiatives to protect the natural surroundings. The club ensures compliance with biofouling regulations, maintains filtration systems, and has developed a strategic plan for environmental management. Additionally, members have successfully implemented a low-budget solution to treat runoff from the boatyard, reducing contaminants such as copper, zinc, and petroleum hydrocarbons. The club also works on mangrove management to enhance the local ecosystem.
Waste Water Filtration
All water from our yard undergoes thorough treatment before it reaches the river, ensuring that contaminants are effectively removed and environmental standards are met.
Biofouling Regulations and Best Practices
Weiti Boating Club adheres to the biofouling regulations established by Auckland Council, ensuring responsible environmental practices in maintaining vessels and marine infrastructure.
Wash Down
Area
As an enhancement to our yard filtration system, we have introduced a dedicated wash down area, effectively preventing contaminants from entering the river and further strengthening our environmental protection efforts
